Aside from props, I’ve helped design a few graphics such as lower thirds used when characters are giving testimonials to the audience. The idea was to take the teams’ pre-designed logos and add a lower third with the characters’ names and occupation, with the graphic having a slanted edge for a sense of energy and action. I initially designed the still graphic and our storyboard director, Angie, created a template for how they could be animated. Since then, I’ve used her template to produce new lower thirds for future episodes. I was also tasked with designing a brand new logo for the project, for both the YouTube channel and Patreon page. The design is based on the Legacy Idol as seen in the show, using the visual of a bird, which is a running motif in the show (teams are named Emus and Toucans, and there’s the recurring seagull characters, Sealia). Just as birds are always watching us from above, the cameras always rolling and watching every move in reality TV.
